Christmas is the celebration of Jesus’ gift of Himself to us. He is so gentle that He came as a baby. Yet He is so powerful that He conquered sin and death. Emmanuel is with us now and wants us to be with Him through all eternity.
How do we respond to such a gift? Jesus wants only one thing: the gift of ourselves. Our hearts, our minds, our bodies and our souls. Jesus longs to receive our love. “Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord; cry out to the rock of our salvation….Let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the Lord who made us” (Ps 95:1, 6). Let’s worship Him with heart, mind, body and soul.
A simple way to enter into worship can be found here. Some Christmas worship songs and lyrics are below to get you started.
Joy to the World:
Angels we have Heard on High:
O Come, Let us Adore Him:
Son of God:
Let worship lead you into contemplation. Enjoy the Lord’s presence. Listen for His voice. Ponder His words in your heart as Mary did, so that you too may reply, “May it be done to me according to your word” (Lk 1:38). Then His words will bear great fruit in your life.
Being present with Jesus is the best gift you can give Him this Christmas. He will cherish it. He will cherish you.
May your Christmas and new year be filled with the joy of His love!
